Best Travel Beauty Products
Y’all, I can be pretty OCD about travel. I want to be prepared for any obstacle I may come across. Some of the strangest items I have packed in my suitcase include (but definitely not limited to)…. scotch tape, wine opener, inflatable float, plastic hangers (cruise ship rooms NEVER have enough), poster board, compression bags, mini liquor bottles, a disco ball cup (thanks Jo!), glow sticks, and so much more. I might go into detail one day for why those items may come in handy on your next trip, but I’ll start with the more rational choices first. With summer vacations right around the corner, I present to you my favorite beauty products for traveling!
Sunscreen for face | Aveeno Active Naturals Sunblock for Face SPF 30 | $10
I have searched high and low for a sunscreen made especially for my face that (a) won’t clog my pores (b) won’t leave me shinier than a new penny and (c) will stay put for my beach day. Aveeno’s face sunscreen checks all 3 boxes and I’m clearly not the first to discover this – it’s NEVER in stock. I can’t even find a site to link to. If you spot this rare gem during your next Target run, buy them all! (I’ll pay you back.)
Lip Color | Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 | $22.50
Looking for some color on your lips while still protecting them from damaging UV rays? This nourishing lip treatment is the answer. It comes in 8 colors and I haven’t met one I didn’t like. It’s the trifecta for lip care – hydrates, protects, and colors!
Health and Energy Booster | Emergen-C Vitamin C | $10.99
If I pledge my allegiance to anything on this list, it’s Emergen-C. There is nothing worse than getting sick while on vacation. Airplanes, cruise cabins, and hotel rooms are basically petri dishes just waiting for you to touch the wrong surface. Emergen-C is filled with vitamins and antioxidants that not only help your immune system but also boost your energy as well. If I was stranded on a deserted island and could take 3 items with me, Emergen-C would be one of them. My favorite is pink lemonade but it comes in tons of flavors!
Tinted Moisturizer | Cotz Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40 | $19.99
I hate to put on tons of make-up before a day in the sun but I don’t want to scare small children either. This Birchbox find is the perfect replacement for your foundation/powder regimen. Once the Aveeno sunscreen is dry, use a drop of this to smooth out your complexion while also protecting your face from the sun.
Hand Lotion | L’Occitane Hand Cream | $12
My hands get super dry when I fly, so if I’m traveling at 32,000 feet, a small bottle of this is never out of reach. This hand cream is enriched with shea butter and the lavender smell is to. die. for.
Perfume | Sample Sizes | Usually free!
If you’re like me, you’ve got those tiny perfume samples all over your bathroom. The next time you travel, save space by packing one of them instead of your regular perfume or body spray. One tube is plenty for a week-long vacation. It’s a perfect way to try out new scents as well!
